Building Design 2035

Building design in 2035 is likely to be shaped by several key trends and innovations. Here are some of the most prominent ones:

Sustainable and Regenerative Architecture

  • Regenerative Design: Moving beyond sustainability, buildings will aim to restore and improve ecosystems. This could include generating more energy than they consume, purifying the air, and providing habitats for wildlife1.
  • Green Roofs and Walls: These features will become more common in urban spaces, improving air quality and reducing energy consumption.

Adaptive Reuse and Circular Architecture

  • Adaptive Reuse: Older buildings will be repurposed for new uses, preserving embodied energy and cultural heritage.
  • Circular Architecture: Buildings will be designed with disassembly in mind, ensuring that materials can be reused or recycled at the end of a structure’s lifespan.

Biophilic Design

  • Vertical Forests: Inspired by projects like Stefano Boeri's Vertical Forest in Milan, buildings will integrate greenery and biodiversity into dense urban areas.

High-Density Housing and Mixed-Use Developments

  • High-Density Housing: Urban planners will embrace high-density housing projects to tackle housing shortages, prioritizing affordability and accessibility.
  • Mixed-Use Developments: These will bring together residential, commercial, and recreational spaces, creating vibrant, self-sustaining communities.

Resilient Design

  • Resilient Design: Buildings will be designed to withstand extreme weather conditions and other environmental challenges.

Human-Centered Design

  • Experience Multipliers: Spaces will be designed to inspire connection, foster engagement, and create a sense of belonging

My personal Quest

If Rainwater Farming was to go ahead and be accepted by the higher authorities of the state or nation, percentages of money's accumulated from sale of Rainwater Farming and Rainwater Farming products will be put aside for the construction of homelessness accommodation options in around city locations including social housing projects and transitional accommodations, we also have sights to create outlets to satisfy the clothing needs of the homeless and citizens on low income also to include a possible grocery outlet.

Why Not Fibre Cement

Fiber cement is a popular building material known for its durability and versatility. Here are some of the benefits of using fiber cement:

Durability and Strength

  • Long-Lasting: Fiber cement is highly resistant to wear and tear, making it a long-lasting option for exterior siding.
  • Impact Resistance: It can withstand impacts from hail, wind-blown debris, and other external forces without damage.

Fire Resistance

  • Non-Combustible: Fiber cement is non-combustible, providing excellent fire resistance and enhancing the safety of buildings.

Pest and Rot Resistance

  • Pest Resistant: Unlike wood, fiber cement is not susceptible to termites, ants, or other pests.
  • Rot and Decay Resistant: It does not rot or decay, even in humid or wet conditions.

Low Maintenance

  • Minimal Upkeep: Fiber cement requires minimal maintenance compared to other materials like wood. It doesn't need frequent painting or sealing.

Aesthetic Versatility

  • Various Styles and Textures: Available in a wide range of styles, textures, and colors, fiber cement can mimic the appearance of wood, stone, or brick.
  • Customizable: It can be painted to match any design preference, providing versatility in aesthetic applications.

Environmental Benefits

  • Sustainable: Made from a mix of sand, cement, and cellulose fibers, fiber cement is a sustainable building material.
  • Energy Efficiency: Its insulating properties can contribute to improved energy efficiency in buildings.

Weather Resistance

  • Weatherproof: Fiber cement is highly resistant to weather elements, including rain, wind, and UV rays, ensuring it maintains its appearance and structural integrity over time.

Cost-Effective

  • Affordable: It offers a cost-effective solution for exterior cladding, providing a balance between performance and affordability.
